Overcome Fear

Stay Healthy!

I recently attended the Creating Wealth 101 Conference in Monroeville, PA on May 8th. There were some incredible speakers with some amazing stories to tell, and yet I want to share something else with you.

I had a moment to talk with David Corbin, the “Mentor to Mentors” after the event. We chatted a little bit at the end of the conversation he said two parting words that haunted me for the next 36 hours. I thought about them. I wondered, does he say these words in parting to everyone he talks to? Did something tell him to say them to me? I mean, what was that about? And why did these two little words bug me so much?

The two words were, “Stay Healthy.” I awoke Monday morning and realized why those two words were bothering me. It was because a limiting belief was running in the background that his words had touched, almost like a wound that had not yet healed.

I have been very focused on building my coaching business with a intense passion. I have been really busy (and loving every moment of it!) and was having thoughts running just under the surface of my awareness that it could be okay to sacrifice my physical health and well-being in the service of a greater good.

What B.S.! how can I serve people well and with great power and focus if I do not care for myself? How can I help others do what I am not willing to do? Am I not called to value myself, my family, my friends, my clients, God, etc? It makes no logical sense. How can I truly help and serve people if I am not caring properly for myself?

It was like a revelation. But here’s the bigger part of this story. Most of us are carrying around limiting beliefs that tell us that we must sacrifice something of great importance to us (our family, our friends, our health, our values, our integrity, etc.) to receive or achieve something else. Again, more B.S.!

God desires to bless us abundantly. It is within our reach, if we will only get out of the way. When we stop telling ourselves lies that have nothing to do with the truth of who we are and who God is, we will experience abundance in all of its fullness. May it be so for each and every one of us!
