Who Are You Listening to?

Just yesterday, someone shared a story with me about how a few fearful people convinced her not to do an act of service that she knew was the right thing to do. I and a whole bunch of other people had encouraged her to to do what she thought was a wonderful act of service and generosity. When I asked her what other, better plan these fear-filled people had given her to accomplish instead of her original vision, she said that they had not given her one, so she decided to do nothing instead of the wonderful something she had envisioned.
I have recently come to realize that sin is not the enemy so much as fear. According to Max Lucado, Jesus said “Don’t be afraid” more than any other statement in the gospels. I used to be so afraid. I used to listen and act according to the proptings of fear so much that I was paralyzed into inaction. I have finally allowed God and others to help me let go of enough of my fear to really start helping people. This blog is one facet of that help that I now offer.
Let us allow God to help us release our fears enough to follow the promptings of our hearts. Let us give much more of what we came to this planet to give-our time, talents, gifts, and treasures to the realization of a world of people that run on passion instead of running from their fears. Each and every single one of us have numerous opportunities to be the answer to someone’s unspoken prayer for help. Let us each seek to be someone’s answered prayer today and each and every day!
