Are You Happy?

Many years ago, one of my voice teachers shared with me an important question that his spiritual teacher had shared with him, “Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?”
This question has many possibilities for discussion. Today, I’ll just focus on what it means to be truly happy.
Many people think that happiness is a function of the quality of external circumstances. The truth is that our circumstances are merely information on how we are currently creating our reality. To focus on circumstances that are flowing out of your own being and thinking that they are “causing” your happiness is kind of silly. We are the creators of our own happiness, no matter how we interpret our experiences.
The more effective and consistent way to experience happiness as a continuous experience is to recognize that we choose whether to experience it or not. Once we accept this truth, we can set up regular habits and patterns that make for a happy life. In other words, we can literally choose to accept absolutely nothing less than ecstatic bliss from moment to moment.
There are many aspects from the mental standpoint to achieving this bliss. There are two keys that most people are currently missing in creating a life of unending joy.
1. Accept the Spiritual Power that makes for a happy life.
2. Let go of all fears and fear-based energy patterns of intention, feeling, thought, and action.
Taking these two actions will lead the people who habitually practices them into a life filled with more happiness than they can currently imagine.
