Today is All Saints’ Day, and it feels appropriate to share a bit of my perspective with you on this day.

I’m not going to relate my perspective to the historical developments related to this day or to any particular theological or religious traditions. I’m just going to share a few thoughts that are occurring to me today.

To me, All Saints’ Day can help us to remember those people that have touched our lives in ways that have helped us to connect to more of who we really are as Children of God. These could people we know directly or that we are aware of their influence more indirectly. We may not even be aware of their influence or existence at all!

These people could still be incarnate, or may have moved onto another phase of existence. Actually, many of these people we may have never known in the flesh, only knowing that spirit beings have been assisting us as we have been working through the challenges of our lives.

To me a saint is someone who in their own unique way helps us to connect to the Power of Love which makes life worth living. Some saints are hard and crusty and not a whole lot of fun. Some are serious. Others are soft and fuzzy and warm and cuddly. Others make us laugh, while others are good at making us think. Each of these souls are helping us to experience and discover the power of love in their own unique ways.

All Saints’ Day (for me) is a special time to remember who we really are to each other despite the trappings and illusions that might help us to forget what is real and meaningful.

People are people with their bodies and without them. Saints come in a wonderful variety of forms. Not that I tend to think of things in this way, but who is to say that animals, plants and minerals may not also be manifestations of love that also help us to experience more of the truth as well?

Every moment of our lives is a fresh opportunity to experience greater love and therefore express even greater gratitude for those who have helped us expand our perspective.

I am very aware that there have been a multitude of souls seeking to help and support me on my trek. For a long time I thought many of them were crazy, foolish, or even non-existent. I have actually come to recognize that I would not be where I am today if it were not for the love, faith, and prayers of a great multitude of souls in the flesh and beyond the flesh who chose to support me despite my great and many shortcomings and limitations.

I’m so grateful for the many people who believed in me when I could not believe in myself. I would not be alive today if it were not for their love and faith. Of this I am certain.

During this All Saints’ Day may we take a moment to express our gratitude in joyful ways for those who have helped, supported, guided, and loved is us in our journeys. There is not a single one of us who does anything worthwhile by ourselves. We are supported in visible and invisible ways with the thoughts, prayers, love, and faith of many, many others, whether we are consciously aware of it or not.

People want to be certain, and they will do everything they can to feel as certain as they can. The challenge is that people have not been taught how to become certain in the ways that will serve and support them in fulfilling their true destinies and desires.

The easiest way for people to experience certainty is to focus on the past. People tend to think of the past as being more certain that the future. While this appears to make logical sense, this approach will not produce the kinds of results that we actually desire.

Truly successful and powerful leaders are much more certain about the future than they are about the past. Those of us who are living the lives of our dreams and creating the world we desire are absolutely certain that the future is being created based upon what we intend, think, feel, and do right now.

This doesn’t mean that we are concerned with every detail of how we will create the future we desire. We know and trust (have faith) that we are creating our desired future right here and right now by following our intuitions, taking our inspired actions, being who we really are, and experiencing very powerfully the feelings that we anticipate feeling when our intentions are manifested on all levels of reality (physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually).

I know that most people do not know how to do this. Yet most people are unconsciously doing something very similar without realizing it. Most people are so focused upon what they fear with such strong feelings of aversion that they are intending a future that will make them even more fearful than they were in the past. Because of the powerful energies that are currently flooding the earth, humanity’s ability to create what it fears is increasing at an incredible rate of speed with even more amazing consequences that we can experience through the media each and every day.

Everything that is perceived as a problem that is happening right now is a direct result of the persistent and powerful focus of the vast majority of human beings on what they are afraid of and what they do not want. That kind of “certainty” will create a future super-charged with fear and fear-inducing circumstances from the most-microscopic levels to the most macroscopic levels of reality.

When we release our fears, we get to experience certainty that the world will be transformed into a place that increases and enhances life instead of decreasing and diminishing it. Those of us who know what we are doing are using the very same energies that accelerating the forces bent upon fear and destruction for the purposes of creating the world we desire. Those who are living out of fear, no matter how powerful they may appear, are powerless when compared to those of us who are consciously creating the world from a foundation of Love.

I look forward to more and more of you joining those of us in creating a world of unbounded possibilities and unlimited life! It’s a whole lot more fun than the alternative!

Last night Liam stayed up a little past his normal bedtime after an especially busy day. Wendy and I were guiding him to his bedroom. He was holding Wendy’s hand, and I was guiding him from behind. He was kind of stumbling along. We thought it was because he was so tired. Only after he ran into the door frame to his bedroom did we realize that he had been walking with his eyes closed on the way to bed. He had shut them on purpose because he thought it would be fun.

This makes me think about how so many people think about faith. They think that faith is blindly following a person, a guru, a savior, a church, a teaching, a teacher, a faith, a tradition, political party, country, or dogma. I guarantee if this is how you are living your faith, you are going to eventually run into a lot of door frames too.

Here’s my take on faith. faith to me is living my life with my eyes wide open, being as aware of everything going on within and around me as I possibly can. And while living in this way, I trust that God and others and my spiritual self will help me become aware of everything else I need to become aware of to step more fully into who I really am and who God really is and who others rewally are. I trust that evertything I need to perceive and become aware of will be revealed to me with perfect timing and in the absolutely perfect ways for me to do what I need to do to fulfill my destiny.

By questioning everything that doesn’t make sense or doesn’t support what we truly and deeply desire, we are creating the space to become even more faithful. While this may not have been what you have been taught. It is absolutely true, especially when it comes to the most hallowed and cherished beliefs, creeds, dogmas, and traditions that we have chosen to accept “on faith.”

Mental assent and agreement doesn’t compare with the wonders and joys of a constantly-expanding awareness of infinite possibilities! This is what true faith is. Anything else is only a cheap imitation!

Most people, most of the time, have all kinds of doubts about all kinds of things they want, wish, or would like to happen. The universe is a magnificent machine designed perfectly to give human beings exactly what they focus on. So what do feelings and thoughts of doubt create? They pretty much keep things the same as they are. Doubts take thoughts, feelings, and intentions that could shape a different future and negate or nullify them.

The universe responds to certainty. When a person or a group of people commit all of their time, energy, emotions, focus, attention, and faith to generating an outcome for long enough, it will come to pass. Of course all kinds of other variables related to the impassioned efforts of others will play a part in the creation of the desired outcome to the extent that the second groups’ efforts interact with the first person or group’s vision.

If you want something to occur, happen, be created, be transformed, or be done; focus upon that desired outcome with consistent and persistent certainty along with a red-hot, burning emotions of faith and passion. If at the same time you take daily inspired actions consistent with the creation of that desired outcome, it will occur. It must occur. The universe must bend itself to the power of your unstoppable desire.

So why don’t more people experience the fulfillment of their deepest desires? Because they doubt and lack certainty. And why is this the case? If you have been reading this blog for a while, you know what the answer is: fear. Fears that we are not-worthy enough, good enough, smart enough, strong enough, experienced enough, whatever enough-will cause the universe to give us whatever will keep us in the realm of what we think we already know.

To transform our lives and the world, all we need to do is release all of our fears. I think that is great deal to bring heaven to earth!

Last night I watched the movie Fearless. It was directed by Peter Weir. Jeff Bridges, Isabella Rossellini, and Rosie Perez starred in the film. It was deep, spiritual, moving, personal, and just absolutely wonderful. The story centers around the lives of two survivors of a plane crash. Before the crash, Max Klein was afraid to fly. After the crash, he claims to have no more fear.

Ironically (for me anyway) the film came out in the same year that I had a powerful experience that gave me a taste of fearlessness myself. For three days I lived without fear of anything or anyone (at least as far as I remember).

If you have been paying attention to this blog, you’ll notice that I am really big on releasing fears with the goal of fearlessness. Here, I’d like to self-dislose what’s been going on with me lately to give you an idea of how deep our fears really do run.

In 1993 I experienced what I believe to be a form of fearlessness that faded after 3 days. It 1997 I discovered a methodology for becoming fearless on a 24-7-365.25 basis that I have been practicing ever since that time with absolute fearlessness as part of my goal. Lately I have made a lot of progress toward my goal of fearlessness to the point where most fears that come up for me can be cleared very easily and effortlessly. Some need a bit more time and attention to release.

Despite all of the time, attention and energy I have put into the realization of my goal, I still have deep-seated fears that require healing and release. Fearless revealed another to me last night. Toward the end of the movie, another survivor says to Max Klein something like, “You can’t save everyone, Max.” In hearing those words, I realized that I was continuing to suffer from a fear that I had not yet completely released.

In that moment I saw myself more clearly. In that statement, I recognized that I had been feeling a kind of pressure to save everybody. This is a fear that for me is related to a few different things.

All of my life I have been afraid that I was not good enough, that I was not worthy of the biological real estate I had been blessed to inhabit (not unlike most or all of you reading this I’m guessing). Connected to this fear was the sense that I needed to do something of importance or significance in order to earn the right to claim my right to exist within the tiny swatch of the universe I call home. Underneath this was a lack of trust in myself, others, and God. I did not trust that God had not made a mistake in creating me. I did not trust that I was good enough because God had made me. I did not trust that just being myself and doing what I truly wanted to do was enough. No. I needed to do more. I needed to do God’s job of saving everyone. I needed to accomplish God’s job of saving the world for myself and by myself.

Thanks to Fearless, I have let go a bit more of my stranglehold on the idea that it is my job to save the world. I now have given myself a bit more permission to trust that God really does know what God is doing. Of course part of the reason I am here is to become saved and to help God with the work of saving others from the fears that hide their true magnificence. Of course I am to do the absolute best I can through my work and my being.

The difference is that when I can do these things with absolute faith and trust that God will pick up where my efforts fall short, I will be truly free and absolutely fearless. Because it does not all hinge upon me. Nothing depends solely upon me. I am a human being with the blessings that accompany existence as a created being.

I can trust God to do everything that I cannot do. I can trust God and others to do what is necessary. There’s no need to push, or force, or rush. There is now every reason to trust. My prayer right now is that each and every one of us may move more consciously into living from a place of faith, love, hope, peace, and joy. May we all do our best to support one another despite our fears until we can recognize that they are no longer necessary.

We pour our time, energy, creativity, commitment, and love into something only to experience fear, anger, confusion, disappointment, despair over the end of something we really believed in and truly wanted to work out. We desire to create and sustain good things (otherwise we wouldn’t bother). So why don’t things always go the way we hope they will?

The short answer to this question is, “Because space is being created for something even better.” Let me elaborate.
In my world nothing happens by accident. Nothing. Everything that exists has wonderful potential purposes, and I believe that one of my main jobs in life is to take whatever circumstances I have attracted into my life and do the best I can in that moment to make the most of them whatever they may be.

One of the ideas I depend upon every single day goes something like this:

I can trust God, the universe, myself, and other people to conspire perfectly for my benefit and for the benefit of all. Regardless of circumstantial appearances, I can trust that all things are working together for the highest good of all concerned.

I think many people believe that things often get much worse before they get better. Despite this faily commpn belief. many of us assume that if things aren’t going the way we want them to go they must be “BAD.”

This kind of thinking denies us the opportunities to maximize the circumstances that we attract into our lives. If you think about anything that has happened in your life that you didn’t want to happen, chances are the first thing you did was resist it. In some way you denied it or pushed back against it, thinking “This can’t be happening!” or “I hate this!” or “I wish this would just go away!” or whatever exclamatory phrases occurred to you at the time.

What if, instead of resisting, we chose to act as if this thing we do not want is actually an opportunity? What if we have actually been waiting for this very moment to take our lives to a whole new level? What if the thing that we do not want is actually the secret doorway to an unbelievably wonderful future?

We all have stories of circumstances that we thought were terrible that actually turned out to be “blessings in disguise” once we had the benefits of time, experience, or perspective. How about we take that attitude all of the time, regardless of appearances? What do we lose by doing this? (Perhaps the sick pleasures that go along with being “right” and miserable?) Thinking that there is absolutely no possibility of anything good ever coming from a particular circumstance only delays the realization that whaever has happened or is happening is a great growth opportunity.

What I know for sure is that our chances for success are much better if we are open to the possibilities within less-than-desirable (or downright horrible, terrible, absolutely no-good) events and circumstances. While most of us resist these kinds of experiences out of habit, my hope is that we can all open up at least a little bit more to the possibility that even the worst circumstances and events hold the seeds for real progress for ourselves and for others.

Good farmers plant their seeds. They trust that the seed, sun, rain, and soil will do what they are supposed to do (well, at least organic farmers do!). All of life is rigged for our benefit, whether we believe it or not. Perhaps the next time something doesn’t go the way we want it to (or even right now!) we can choose to believe that it has a useful purpose, even if we can’t see it yet. Let’s believe that it may very well be exactly what we need to expand into an much more expansive experience of life. I humbly submit that that is exactly what it is.
