So why are we here? Why do we exist? What is the point of it all?

For as long as I can remember I have struggled with questions such as these. For the longest time, I did not think I knew the purpose of my life. I wondered about it as if it wasn’t already permanently imprinted upon the very core of my being.

Even now I occasionally choose not to remember why I’m really here. I’m guessing that most of the people reading this are choosing to forget the simple fundamental truth that forms the foundation of every life on this planet. Even I succumb to the seductions of lies like: “Making money is the most important thing.” Or “Creating things is the most important thing.” “ Or “Controlling perceptions is the most important thing.” The world is as screwed up as it is, not because people don’t know the truth, but because we persistently choose to ignore what we know to be true in the depths of our being.

We exist to make manifest the fullness of love in our receiving of all of the love we can possibly receive and in the giving of our love to the fullest possible extent.

This may sound soft, shallow, naïve, or foolish to some of you reading this. I don’t care. I have struggled through my own bullsh*t for way too long to uncover this truth in my own life to try to dress up something simple, good, beautiful, and true so that others will be impressed by it.

And in case anyone thinks that living a life of reckless unconditional love is too soft a target, I know instantly that those people haven’t actually given it a shot. There is no more challenging goal in this world-apparently and temporarily ruled by fear and its many ugly stepchildren.

Love isn’t about being nice. Love isn’t about being a doormat for bullies. Love isn’t about looking the other way when fearful people do their business all over each other.

Love is about speaking the truth, even when it isn’t what people want to hear. Love is about standing up for others and for what is good and true and beautiful, especially when it is not popular. Love is about staring bullies down and taking their blows, even to the point of death if that is what it takes to help people wake up from their walking comas. Love is about helping people who are acting out of fear to see what seeds they are planting and what crops they will be harvesting if they do not change their habitual patterns. We’ve seen, heard about, and read examples of people doing these very things. We are being called to do the same in the name of True Love-Love that never, ever gives up.

To love with reckless abandon is to risk losing everything while hoping and trusting that all will end up winning in the end. And the winning in the end is not a some kind of hollow victory over others. It is not the raising of a shiny trophy. The victories that matter are the daily triumphs over our fears. We are to seek victory over living lives of commiseration and mediocrity. Greatness is available to each and everyone one of us, not necessarily in the ways that  most people would recognize, and yet those of us who are now waking up to the repercussions of choosing to focus on our fears instead of our loves need to start playing a much bigger game in the cosmic arena if we are to help ourselves and others to risk everything they think they have in order to experience everything worth living for.

Let us play all-out at life. Let us play for lasting victory over our lesser selves. It is these kinds victories that bring true and lasting rewards-our true and permanent ownership of absolute and infinite worth.

Superpowers!

Everybody has one (or more) whether they know it or not. What are yours?

When I was a kid, I always wanted to be a super hero with cool superpowers. Little did I realize that I had them and didn’t know it! The same is true for you too!

So what are  yours?

Super-speed?

Intelligence?

Healing?

Speech?

Writing?

Design?

Love?

Peace?

Joy?

Wisdom?

The ability to bend space-time?

Business?

Creativity?

Craftiness?

You get the picture. Everyone has a unique combination of characteristics that combine in a singular unreplicated package-you!

Who you really are is your gift to the world. Allow your passions to guide you in applying your super powers for the betterment of the world, and you will find that there is nothing that will be able to stop you from making a huge difference for a whole bunch of people.

Here are the keys to achieving holistic success. And by holistic success, I mean that you have what you want and want what you have (and are really excited about all of the awesome things that are coming your way as well). It also involves living from your passions and being willing to die for them if that becomes necessary. It’s about having a huge WHY for your life and seeing how everything in your life connects to that GREAT BIG WHY.

Every single person on the planet who is living a life of holistic success has followed the same formula whether they know it or not.

1. Know! Get as clear on what you love to do, who you love being, and what you love having in your life as possible.
2. Go!! Take physical actions that can help you move a little bit closer to realizing your GREAT BIG WHY.
3. Let Go!!! Fears, negative emotions, and limiting thoughts will arise. Let them go, knowing that they are not real, just interpretations that seem real to you.
4. Ditto!!!! Seek and allow for the formation of habits, relationships, and support systems that will help you repeat this process consciously and rapidly to gain momentum and ever-more-fully realize your soul’s deepest desires.

When it comes to letting go of your baggage and attracting your support systems developing your empowering habits, these can be done on the four levels of personal power:

1. Physical          The bio-body
2. Mental             The brain, mind, thoughts, neuralpathways, reticular activating system, brainwaves, etc.
3. Emotional      The energetic heart center or chakra, feelings, and emotions
4. Spiritual          The soul made in the invisible image of the Divine Soul of God

Go easy on yourself. Enjoy the journey. Trust that you are experiencing exactly what you need to life the life of your destiny. Whatever you are attracted to, continue to seek it even if you don’t see the point. Eventually you will, and when you get it, you’ll be able to look back over every moment of your life and know that it was all perfectly designed to shape you into the person that the world needs. WE NEED YOU MORE THAN YOU KNOW!!! I look forward to the incredible riches that you will be sharing for the benefit of us all!!!

Here are a few discoveries I have made as I as connect more and more to my passions.

Passion has the power to bend time and space.

I now experience time and space in ways that are pretty unusual to people who are living in fear. For example, I live what seems to me to be the equivalent of several years of my former self’s life in a single day. The amount of progress I make daily toward the realization of my goals is remarkable. Part of that is due to the fact that I don’t need as much sleep as I used to. Another part of it is that people are so attracted to my passion, energy, and enthusiasm that they are either interested in working with me, know people who are, or and interested in seeing how they can help me achieve my objectives. Of course I am also very interested in helping others achieve their dreams as well (I am a coach!).

Passion helps you do or refrain from things that in the past felt like sacrifices.

Passion has gotten me to a point where I eat healthier, take better care of my body, avoid doing things that do not move me toward my goals, and do more things that take me to my heart’s deepest desires. I not do these things without any sense of deprivation, loss, or lack. I do the mjoyfully because I see how they are helping me achieve my own dreams and make the difference that I came to this planet to make.

Passion increases flowand ease.

Things now just happen for me because I am impassioned. I do not need to fight, struggle, control, fear, plan excessivly, procrastinate, doubt, wonder if it’s going to work out, etc. I can now trust that I am on my path and enjoy the ride.

Let’s let go of everything that is keeping us from connecting with our passions. When enough of us do this, the world will be changed in a single moment!

Every moment of every day is chock-full of opportunties. To the extent that we are clear of fear, we can recognize them and act upon them helping us to fulfill our destinies that much more powerfully, effectively, and quickly. Fear blinds os to possibilities. It is like a defensive structure that stands between a person and what he or she  wants. It’s also like a person who is carrying a whole lot of luggage (AKA: baggage) through an airport. They are so tired out from dragging all of those bags around and so preoccupied with making sure that they still have everything, that they miss seeing and meeting Oprah in the terminal, or maybe the Dali Lama, Nelson Mandella, or Paris Hilton.

To achieve as much of our potential as possible, we much CLEAR THE FEAR. We must let go of our baggage and travel light so that we can speed toward our dreams and goals, realizing the unique vision that has been implanted within us for the healing of the world.

The people of the world are getting ready to wake up. Events from the personal to the cosmic are leading more and more people to open themselves up to new possibilities for their lives.

I am so excited about what is to come! The people of the earth are like someone who has been expecting a birthday party only to have no one even mention it. The big day arrives. Maybe it’s a milestone like your fiftieth. Nothing. No birthday cards. No cake, no birthday wishes on Facebook! Even the departmental “cruise director” at work in charge of the yearly birthday card ritual forgot to send a card around the department and even forgot to apologize for not doing it!!!

Thoughts of suicide and/or homicide (two-sides of the same coin by the way) have been dancing in your head. You think, “I’ll show them! F*** them!” You feel used and abused, unappreciated, like a failure and that your life doesn’t count in the big scheme of things. You wonder, What’s the point of it all?

You come home at the end of a lousy day at work after sitting in worse-then-normal traffic in the pounding rain. You feel like you’ve been sucking life’s tailpipe for way too long. You want to die. Actually you would prefer that you had never been born in the first place.

You open the door and the house is dark. You flip the light switch, and your senses are overwhelmed by all of the noise and light of an incredible surprise party thrown by those you love, your coworkers, and even casual acquaintances. There are even people there you don’t even know. They are there because you changed their lives for the better without even knowing it.

You realize that all of the stuff from the rest of the day doesn’t matter. Actually, you realize that everything you have gone through in your entire life has been perfect, perhaps even necessary. You understand that your life has not been in vain, and that you have had a much greater impact than you realized. You have received the greatest gift a soul can receive—the realization that the good you intended and the love you gave have not been wasted. It has been transformed into incredible riches that you could not even imagine. Your current experience exceeds every hope and expectation you ever had. You are now more fully-empowered and ready to take your life to a whole new level.

This is my sense of the place that many more people will be coming to in the next few years. For a long time I felt like my birthday had been forgotten. I am currently in the middle of experiencing my surprise party, and I’ve gotta tell you. It is so much better than I could have possibly imagined. If your party hasn’t begun, I’m begging you to be patient. I’m not saying it’s easy. I am saying it is so worth it! Here’s to you and the purpose and meaning of your life! WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!

Be here now. There is power in the present moment. In the present there is no resistance. There is no fear. There is no anxiety. There is no guilt or shame. Now is perfect as it is. It is complete because it is the only real moment. How do I know this despite all of the apparent evidence to the contrary?

Over 15 years ago, I had a moment. It was not an ordinary moment (at least not yet). It was what could be termed a mystical experience, a spontaneous cosmic moment, a space-time mind-blowing moment, a profound experience of the broader possibilities of consciousness. Whatever it was, it came at the perfect time and in the perfect place to show me that what I thought was real was not. The Real is awe-inspiring in ways that the human imagination cannot approach. I know that my experience was beyond the confines of the power of my imagination to create. I could have lived a million years in workaday consciousness and never come close to imagining what I actually experienced in terms of a sense of union with the entire cosmos and the reality of the Eternal Now as a multidimensional reality. There are no words – try as I might – to convey the wonders that I experienced.

That experience put me on a quest that led me to many more wonderful and amazing discoveries. Again, things I never thought I would know or experience. When you have no idea that something even exists, how can you have any expectation that you will ever experience it?

But the main point I want to communicate right now is that the cosmos is always now. When we struggle against the present moment with our fears, resistance, doubts and rationalizations we are not in the flow of the moment. We are in conflict with the entire cosmos and the Creative Source of All Goodness. Right now everything is effortless. Right now, everything is changing. Right now everything is alive and vibrant and full of infinite possibilities. Now is the fulcrum for shifting everything for the benefit of all life everywhere.

Every good thing is possible, right now. There is no need to wait. Every good thing can be experienced right now. The universe and the Creative Source await our clear, singular, and uncompromised intentions to realize greater possibilities than we have thus far allowed.

The apparent limitations, challenges, problems, barriers, and structures that seem so permanent and solid only exist because people give their energies to their sustenance. When enough of us realize that every ridiculous thing humanity has created is not lasting or permanent but is easily and effortlessly changeable, these things will wither away or be transformed right before our eyes.

People are saying it will take so long for this or that good thing to come to pass. As our certainty is, so shall our experience be. Read that one again. Are you sure that what you think you know for sure is actually true? Are you willing to bet your life on what you think you know?

Let’s clear out all of the falsehoods we have accepted as truths. As we focus more and more with greater clarity upon all of the good possibilities that await our desire and trust to fully realize them, we become certain and those possibilities appear, not in decades or years, but in the present moment of our attention.

There is a huge shift in human consciousness on the horizon. In truth it has already begun. The time is coming when what I write will actually make sense because what I’ve just described will have come to pass in ways that will be impossible to deny. This shift may be experienced right here and right now for those of us who are willing to release our fears and live from our deepest passions and highest aspirations. There really is no time other than the present. Let’s make the most of it!

Last night I watched the finale of Lost with my wife. I really enjoyed it despite some apparent continuity issues that I won’t go into here. One of the reasons I really enjoyed it was because of the one of the themes that came out at the end of the series: we really and truly need each other.

Why is this so important? Well, to me it is so important because it highlights something that is not so obvious today. Many lead insular lives. Many people have set up their lives (as much as they possibly can) not to depend upon the help of others. So many of us are struggling with so many things in our lives, and most of the people around us have no idea of what is really happening with us.

In the Lost finale, we see the different characters asking each other for help and doing their best to help each other. Even Vincent, the dog, comes to be with Jack at the very end so that he doesn’t have to “die alone.” This simple act harkens back to the very beginning of the series when Jack accepts the role of leader of the survivors—“If we don’t find a way to live together, we’re gonna die alone.”

This theme really resonates with me for several reasons:

1. It’s actually true.

2. We need to do as much as we can to live this truth.

God didn’t create us so that we could spend our lives hiding from each other, pretending that we’ve got it all under control. God didn’t put us together so that we could tear each other down by acting from the lies that we tell ourselves, the lies that we try to get other people to buy. God put us together so that we could help each other and ask others for the help we need.

Each one of us is here for very general and specific reasons. Generally it’s to give and receive as much love as possible. Specifically, you are being called to be who you really are and do what you absolutely love to do. Being and doing these things will help everyone and everything else to achieve the best possible expressions of life.

Let’s do more to offer the help that we were created to give. Let’s start asking for more of the help that we really and truly need. Everything we need to make the most of our lives is completely with our reach—both the giving and the receiving!

Most of my life, I have been focused on the future. One of my constant questions was, “When will I achieve [BLANK]?” or “When will I experience [BLANK]?” There’s a line in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back where Yoda says to Luke shortly after revealing his true identity as the great Jedi Master, “This one a long time have I watched. All his life has he looked away… to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph! “Those of you who know me know that I love Star Wars and that one of my favorite characters of all time is Yoda.

Well, the quote above pretty much sums up what my approach to life has been for the most part. This focus is probably not much different from the experience of most people. But here’s what I want to share with you right now: I missed a whole heck of a lot of cool stuff by not being fully where and when I was at any given time and place.

The only way to experience all of the gifts that the present offers is to have one’s consciousness fully in the present moment. It’s been said that is why we call “now” the present. I can say that I also know that the “here” part of the space-time equation is also essential as well. If we are not fully in our bodies in a given place, we are not able to fully-experience the richness and fullness of the experience of being alive. And if you don’t know what I mean about “being fully in our bodies,” look for a future post to deal with that topic.

I want to share something that has become a much stronger perception for me lately. My hope is that sharing it with you now will accelerate your progress along your own life path. So here it is:

Everything that has ever happened in your life, is happening in your life, and will ever happen in your life is absolutely and completely perfect just the way it was, is, and will be. I’m sure some of you are saying, “But what about [BLANK]?!” or “How could [BLANK] have possibly been perfect?! That was one of the most horrific/terrible/awful/evil things that could ever happen to a person!” “Because of that, I lost [BLANK], and I can never get it back!!!”

Here’s what I know for sure about my life right now. I now have a perspective on my life where I know without any shadow of a doubt that everything that has ever happened before in the entire history of the cosmos was absolutely necessary for me to become who I am, doing what I’m doing, being who I am being.

And here’s the real kicker – I am so incredibly grateful (actually, especially grateful) for every not-so-good, terrible, mistake that I have made or that has been done unto me. All of these experiences have helped me to become a much more compassionate person. Each holds a very special place in helping me to love myself more, experience the unconditional Love of the Divine Source more, and give unconditional love and acceptance to the people that God has placed in my life right here, and right now.

I can’t tell you how I know this. I can only tell you that for me it is a perception of such certainty that I would not even dare to compare this knowledge with even the most established of scientific facts. I know what I know because I have been blessed to know. May this message help you to trust just a little bit more that your past, present, and future trials are necessary for you to become more and more fully the person that The Source created you to be. And if you think all of this is a bunch of ridiculous “woo woo,” I wish you well on your journey. May you discover your own truths that fill you with the confidence that you need to occupy your unique place in the flow of the cosmos. Regardless of what the truth actually is, I have to tell you (that for me, anyway) it’s all good. And it’s already so much more than alright!

Listening is one of the most important skills to develop when it comes to the quality of our lives. This is because the quality of our lives depends upon the quality of our relationships. And the quality of our relationships is a direct function of how well we listen. How well are we listening to other people? To our bodies? To God? To our hearts? To the circumstances of our lives? To the signs and symbols that are everywhere for the interpreting in our waking and in our dreaming?Listening does not mean judging. It is not about winning. Listening is not about being right or coming up with great answers or witty replies. It is not about control, domination, fear, or haste. It is not about projecting our perspective onto someone else. Listening is a humble act where we do not assume to know or understand. It is an act where we allow the “other” (or our own heart!) to speak to us so that we may experience greater truth, love, peace, and harmony. It is the key to giving what is needed rather than what we think is required. It is a true act of generosity because we are giving our full time and attention to another (or our true selves).True listening requires an open heart. To the extent that our hearts are open, we are capable of really listening. And when we really listen, love flows for the enjoyment of all.May we all create time and space in our lives to really listen, not allowing ourselves to be satisfied with superficialities.
